KidZone
Judaism is a family oriented religion. Its values are most strongly transmitted through the family, and powerful, meaningful and lasting Jewish memories are often Jewish family memories. NHBZ KidZone was created to provide families with the resources they need to create a positive and meaningful Jewish experience for kids. We do so regardless of current knowledge level, level of observance, or synagogue affiliation. The goal of our programming is the creation of fun, educational and celebratory activities to actively engage kids and their families in Jewish life. NHBZ is a place where adults and kids feel they can enrich their own lives and learn more about the world around them, and where their Judaism fits in. NHBZ KidZone packages fun and experiential activities to infuse positive associations with Judaism, create lifelong positive memories, and build strong confident Jewish lives.
SHABBAT
NHBZ has worked hard to provide more options for you and your family on Shabbat Morning. (NHBZ membership NOT required…All levels of observance welcome!!!) We offer:
Childcare from 10:00 until Noon
Learners Services for Adults from 10:15 until 11:00 (ish)
Regular Services from 9:00 until 11:45 (ish)
NHBZ offers formalized Shabbat morning Junior Congregation for kids 7 through 11. Every kid should feel free to join us as we gather EVERY month, TWICE a month, from 10 am to Noon to:
- Learn and recite the main Shabbat prayers and tunes
- Review the weekly Torah portion
- Discuss Israel and learn cool facts about the Holy Land
- Hang out with old friends and make new ones!
We also offer Tot Shabbat for kids ages 6 and under. Parents and Grandparents come with the kids to participate in a fun, interactive, educational family service. Learn about Shabbat, Judaism, and how to pray with your children in a way they will appreciate and look forward to! Enjoy our songs, prayers, tiny Torahs, stories, special games and so much more! Like Junior Congregation, Tot Shabbat meets EVERY month, TWICE a month. Tot Shabbat runs from 10:15 to 11:00 am.
HOLIDAYS
Of course, we have Regular, Adult Learners, Family and Youth Services. But we also provide a full plate of activities on the holidays just for kids. From holiday oriented art projects to cooking, to picnics and carnivals, we instill in kids the idea that every single Jewish holiday has meaning, and while some of them are solemn, most cannot be celebrated without joy and exuberance! Check out our Upcoming Events to see what might interest you.
