The Four Questions – Rachael Pevnick

She finally agreed to accept the challenge! Please let us introduce you to:

RACHAEL PEVNICK

“I am the child of immigrant parents, one from Lithuania and one from Poland. I met my beloved husband Teddyz”l, at a Torah Institute dance in 1953, and we married the following year. We have 3 beautiful children (2 sons and 1 daughter), all grown and married. They gave us a total of 6 grandchildren (5 boys and 1 girl all also grown and married!) AND a current count of 7 greatgrandchildren, with one on the way” (keinehora pu pu pu!). Rachael worked at NHBZ for 21 years, serving 300 members. She remains President Emeritus of the Sisterhood.

The Questions:

1. Who is your favorite Torah personality and why?
A. “It would have to be Rachel, of course! She gave up her life for her family. She didn’t want to shame her sister. And she married the man she wanted and loved
so much. People who give up for other people inspire me!”

2. What is your favorite snack food?
A. “Ice cream. I love ice cream. Yep, ice cream.” (A direct quote!! 😉)

3. What are three words you use to describe yourself?
A. “Blessed. Always happy. People lover.”

4. What inspires you?
A. “Almost everything! My children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; my Rabbi; people around me. I love being Jewish!”

Thank you, “Rachael From The Bible”! You are a valuable part of the NHBZ heart! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (and many, many healthy more).
